Fried Ice Cream

Fried Ice Cream

  • 1/2 Gallon Ice Cream (Your Favorite Flavor)
  • 2 TBS Fresh Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Bottle Organic Honey
  • 6 Cups Canola Oil
  • 4 Cups Corn Flakes
  • (Caramel and confectioners sugar optional)

Make 6 large scoop size balls of the ice cream and place them in the back in the freezer so that they become hard to the center (about 2 hours)

Remove from freezer and place on a cookie sheet for about 5 minutes so the outside becomes slightly melted or damp. Place the Corn flakes on another cookie sheet and then roll the ice cream in the cornflakes so that they are completely covered.

Replace in the freezer again for up to two hours.

Preheat oil to about 400 degrees.

**(You will need a nice ladle or skimmer to remove the ice cream from  the oil.)

Place the ice cream balls in the oil in a rolling motion. please be careful this could burn you from the splattering oil. then immediately after 2-3 seconds remove from the oil and strain of excess oil.

Place on a plate and dust with cinnamon (you could use powder sugar) and drizzle with honey. Please serve immediately.
